Welcome to Le Vault Car Rentals. These Terms & Conditions outline the rights, responsibilities, and obligations that apply when you use our services, website, or book a vehicle through us. By confirming a booking, signing a rental agreement, or accessing any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the following terms. Please review them carefully before proceeding, as they form a legally binding contract between you (the renter) and Le Vault.
1. Eligibility & Driver Requirements
All renters must meet minimum eligibility standards to ensure safety and compliance with the law. Renters must be at least 25 years old and possess a valid driver’s license that has been held for a minimum of two consecutive years. International renters may be asked to provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with their local license. Renters must also present a valid passport or government-issued identification at the time of booking. Le Vault reserves the right to refuse rental to anyone who does not meet these criteria or who fails to provide the required documentation.
2. Reservations, Payments & Deposits
Reservations may be made through our website, by phone, or directly at our rental office. A valid credit card is required to secure every booking, and a pre-authorization deposit will be held as security against damages, traffic fines, or late returns. Payment in full is required prior to vehicle collection unless otherwise agreed in writing. The renter agrees that charges including fuel, mileage excess, toll violations, and damages not covered by insurance may be charged to the credit card provided at booking.
3. Vehicle Use & Restrictions
Vehicles must be used in a responsible manner and strictly for lawful purposes. Renters agree not to use Le Vault vehicles for racing, towing, off-road driving, or transporting hazardous materials. Unauthorized drivers not listed on the rental agreement are prohibited from operating the vehicle. Smoking and carrying pets without prior consent are also strictly forbidden. Any breach of these conditions may result in the immediate termination of the rental contract and forfeiture of the security deposit.
4. Insurance, Accidents & Liability
All rentals include standard insurance coverage, which may have deductibles and limitations. Additional coverage can be purchased for enhanced protection. In the event of an accident, renters must immediately notify Le Vault and the local Australian authorities, and follow all necessary procedures including completing incident reports. Renters are financially responsible for damages not covered by insurance, traffic violations, lost keys, or negligence such as driving under the influence. Le Vault will not be held liable for any personal injuries, loss of personal belongings, or consequential damages resulting from use of the vehicle.
5. Fuel Policy & Mileage
Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned refueled to the same level. Failure to do so will result in refueling charges at prevailing market rates plus an administrative fee. Mileage allowances are agreed upon at booking. Exceeding the mileage limit will result in additional charges as stated in the rental agreement.
6. Cancellations, Amendments & Refunds
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the rental start date are fully refundable.
Cancellations made within 72 hours may incur a partial fee.
No-shows or same-day cancellations will not be eligible for refunds.
Amendments to reservations are subject to availability and may affect the rental price.
7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Sydney, NSW.
